Brown Dog Treasures began as a small home based business in 2005. The inspiration for our business was our beautiful, Chocolate Lab, Guinness.

We began by selling Labrador Retriever gift items, photo frames, blankets, garden flags and tote bags to name a few. We soon were overwhelmed with requests for more dog breeds.

In early 2007, while at an industry trade show, we discovered a whole line of MLB licensed dog clothing and accessories. Jackets, jerseys, t-shirts, collars, leashes, caps, feeding bowls and toys. I was overjoyed. The jackets and jerseys were so authentic, they were just like the players wear! We knew we loved them, but we weren’t sure how customers would respond. We started out by buying  just a few items with the two most popular teams. You all know who they are…the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.

The response was amazing. Our licensed sports apparel has grown so tremendously that we now have several specialty web stores dedicated to your favorite sports teams.

Later this spring we will be opening Dodger Dog and the Major League Dog. We also are continuing to add fan friendly features to our sports themed web stores. Fenway Dog has a fan page and a blog. Yankee Dog has a blog coming that will be blogging live from the New Yankee Stadium next week. Fan forums will come early in the season as well.

When it comes to holiday fun with your dogs, Brown Dog Treasures customers are at the top of the list. So many of you enjoy dressing your dogs in costume. We really love the photos you have sent in! Many of you have won Halloween contests and trophies, some of you dress your dogs for therapy work.

We opened Brown Dog Halloween in August of 2008, with the idea that it would just be a seasonal site. Well Brown Dog Halloween is still open! You have all made it clear that dog costumes are not just for Halloween!

This past Holiday season Brown Dog Christmas sold a record number of dogie Santa suits, velvet holiday dresses, not to mention Hanukkah collars and bandanas!

Our newest web store is Brown Dog Bridal. It is online now, but is being stocked daily. A photo gallery and bridal registry is on the way. This site will include dog wedding attire, ringbearers pillows, fancy collar and leashes in all sizes and price ranges.

From budget to luxury, you will find what you need to include your dog in your wedding plans. We will also be offering custom made clothing and accessories.
